Do YOU have what it takes to be a Pattern Designer ?

1. Design a pieced block featuring the Split Stripe pattern from the Roses fabric collection by Jackie Robinson and Maywood Studio. The block may be any size. Additionally, design a layout of the quilt showing how the block works within it.

2. Block design must be stitched. All fabrics used in the block design must be exclusively from the Roses collection by Jackie Robinson and Maywood Studio. You can find Roses at your local fabric retailer. If not available in your area, shop Jackie's website at www.animasquilts.com/roses_fabric.html or purchase from your favorite online shop.

3. The Quilt layout design, (a representation of entire finished quilt showing placement of quilt block within), may be either hand-drawn or created with a computer program. If making a computer image of your finished quilt design, Roses fabric images may be obtained at www.maywoodstudio.com. Select Browse Fabrics, then scroll down to Roses by Jackie Robinson. Right-click images to save to your computer. Please note: Whichever method used to create the quilt layout, the pieced block design must be stitched from fabric. Any Block design submitted only in paper or digital form will be disqualified.

4. Mail Pieced Block PLUS Quilt Layout Design AND completed Entry Form to:

Entries will not be returned. Please note: You will be submitting a BLOCK and a DRAWING of your quilt - NOT a quilt. Complete entries must include Block, Drawing, and Entry Form. All three required items must arrive together to be considered.

5. Individuals may enter as many different completed entries as they wish.

6. More than one person will win! FOUR prizes will be awarded: 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, and Viewers' Choice. All entries will be displayed and Viewer's Choice voting rules posted at www.animasquilts.com/Entries.html

7. Each winner will have her/his design published by Animas Quilts. Viewers' Choice voting will take place June 15-30, 2010. Winners will be notified by July 31, 2010. One prize per winner.

8. Once winners are chosen, each winner will piece and quilt his/her own completed quilt design using Roses. Maywood Studio will provide the fabric needed for each winner to create his/her quilt. Before winning patterns are printed, completed quilts must be delivered to Animas Quilts. For each winning quilt, Jackie Robinson will develop instructions, place the designer's name on the front cover, then print and market the pattern. Winners will receive a royalty for each unit sold for the life of the pattern. Winners will also receive a fabric gift certificate from Maywood Studio, redeemable for Maywood Studio fabrics at the designated Maywood Studio retailer of their choice. Certificate amounts are as follows: Viewers' Choice - $250.00; 1st Place - $250.00; 2nd Place - $100.00; 3rd Place - $50.00.

9. The quilt shop listed on the Entry Form submitted by each winner will also receive a prize from Maywood Studio and Animas Quilts.
